Pressing forward
Well, still having at it at the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts here in San Fracisco. I'm learning so many things here that my brain gets tied in knots. We are on class 6 days a week 9-6. We are all tired but happy to be getting so much good instruction. Planning on going to the big Cartier exhibit here in SFO this week. So much jewelry so little time. :-)

San Francisco
Well, here I am in San Francisco ! I'm not much for big cities but if I were going to live in one this would be it. The Architecture is amazing. Much of it is Victorian and very ornate. The public transportation system is something else. I hear that there are a lot of people that live here there whole lives and never own a car. No Need from what I have seen.
I start my classes at the Revere academy of Jewelry Design on Monday the 4th of January. Greatly anticipating diving in. I have so many ideas. Just need to have my own technological abilities catch up with the creativity. Gee wasn't that what the Director said about his movie "Avatar" ? :-)
Keep tuning in I'll be posting more and have pics as well :-)
Aloha !

Getting Ready for the Revere Jewelry Academy
Well, just working along here getting ready for my departure to the Revere Jewelry Academy of design and manufacture January 1st. Lots to do and prepare for. One fun note is that I made a European style jewelers bench to do my fabricating work on. Great design as it lets you kind of be in your own little world and have all tools at you finger tips. You can find the plans for it at http://www.alberic.net/Toolbox_Index/FrankenBench/FrankenBench.html
The Revere Jewelry Academy is the most prestigious Jewelry academy in the country and I will have for teachers the best of the jewelry masters of our time. I will be in the Graduate Jeweler program there. Among the many things I will be learning are: Advanced stone setting (including pave, prong, and channel setting) Hinges and advanced forging, wax carving , gold casting, and all types of metal fabrication as it applies to jewelry creation. Great things will be coming !
If you would like to be on my e mailing list please let me know by dropping me an email at garrett.brett@gmail.com I will be sending out news and pics while I'm in school :-)
